I saw a Buddhist temple where thousands of monks actually live.
Temple - A place where people meditate or pray
I don't know that much about Eastern philosophy or religion. 
I was brought up Christian.
Sounds like both our parents are pretty liberal about religious beliefs.

It's a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant).
Well, on the one hand It's a wireless, multi-platform, web-enabled browser.
On the other hand, it's solar-powered, voice-activated, memory-expandable phone.

Kirsten was definitely not excited about her presentation tomorrow.
I'm not good at public speaking.
I was surprised by her fear of public speaking.
Kirsten was afraid of public speaking.
Jen was bored with Kirsten's complaints.
You're not scared of speaking in front of a big group?
I just get nervous about being in the spotlight like that.

I've been looking for
the perfect pair of shoes and now I've found them.
I've been looking for boots like these for a while.

You have a new outfit.  Have you been shopping?
I have no money left!  I've been buying too many clothes.

They're all the rage. = They are very fashionable and popular.
These boots are the "in thing".
Johanna has trendy clothes.
Fur trim is hot right now.

I feel like my entire wardrobe is totally out of date.
How can I change my image?

Don't you hate these modern houses?
Isn't this apartment spacious?

Cramped: very small with little space
Spacious: very large with a lot of space

Isn't our townhouse too expensive?
Aren't you tired of fixing up things?
Aren't you ready to move house?
Isn't this apartment too small for us?

Contemporary apartments seem like boxes... Don't you agree?
